PlantText is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide information by which you can be identified when using this website, you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

PlantText may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page occasionally to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from October 28th, 2014.

General Information

PlantText is currently free to use. Many features are available only if you login with an email address and password. At the time of registration, PlantText collects the user’s First and Last Names, Email Address, and Telephone number. This basic contact information is secured and not shared with anyone. By logging into PlantText.com you are consenting to receive transactional emails from the application. You also consent to informational and marketing emails, from which you may unsubscribe upon receipt.

By default, your PlantUML text is transmitted to PlantText’s PlantUML server in order to generate your diagram. This data is not shared with third parties. You also have the option of pointing to another PlantUML server – your own or a third party’s. PlantText does not control how data is managed on other servers.

Information we collect

  • Email Address – Your email address is stored in our database and is not shared with any third parties.
  • Password – All passwords are secured and stored in an encrypted form. All database information is inaccessible from the internet.
  • Location Information – You may be asked for location information, but can decline if you do not want to share it. Location information will only be used anonymously if you choose to share it.
  • User Content – All diagrams are stored in your browser’s local storage. Please do not enter sensitive or proprietary information into the editor if you are concerned that it may be intercepted. During the use of the software, software settings and PlantUML diagrams are stored on your local computer in HTML5 local storage. This data is NOT currently stored in our database, but we reserve the right to do so in the future.

How PlantText uses information we collect

PlantText uses this information solely for the operation of this software and communication with users. We do not share your email address, name, diagrams, or any other data with any third parties. PlantText may contact you via email with information about this application only, and you will be able to opt out of all future emails.
