We’ve been so heads-down working to get out PlantText Pro (Version 23) that we didn’t stop to take the time to tell you about the last two mini-releases we pushed out.
Version 22.8
Version 22.8 came out in January. The main thing about it you may have noticed is that we now have a Dark Mode! It also included:
- Lots of new samples, including Ditaa & Math categories.
- We reworked the Webhooks and AI windows, based on your feedback.
- And lots of little cosmetic improvements and fixes behind the scenes.

Version 22.9
And then just recently here in April we released Version 22.9. It includes a number of fixes, as we are getting all our ducks in a row ahead of Version 23. Here are the highlights:
- We fixed Webhook domain restriction errors
- We fixed import/export/backup error with unicode characters
- We added a new support window for signed in users. If you encounter errors in PlantText or have new ideas for us, you can easily submit them!
- The editor does no longer requires JSON and YAML start & end tags to show diagram
- We removed the bottom ad to create more space for the editor
- We added a software update notification to users. When there is a new release, you will get prompted to reload the page.
- We inserted numerous information messages on hover over, to help make the interface easier to understand
What’s Next
We are just on the verge of being able to release PlantText Pro, which has been developed based on feedback from the user community. It will include several upgrades:
- An ad-free experience.
- GitHub integration. Open diagrams from and save diagrams to your repositories.
- Nearly unlimited AI use. Effortlessly generate diagrams, correct them, transform them, and generate code.
Currently PlantText is on track to serve over a million users this year, in 189 different countries. 😳 It’s astounding and humbling. We are grateful to the user community, and hope to continue serving you well. Thanks for being a part of this!
