PlantText Terms of Service
Effective Date: Wednesday January 8, 2025
Welcome to PlantText (“the Service”), a web application that transmits user-provided data to an artificial intelligence (AI) engine for processing and returns results to the user. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“the Terms”). The Service sends your diagram to the AI (anthropic.claude-3-5-haiku-20241022-v1:0) when the “Include Diagram” checkbox is checked. If your company policy forbids sending diagrams to an AI, or if you prefer not to do so, please do not agree to these Terms nor use the Service.
1. Use of the Service
The Service is provided solely for your personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to misuse the Service, including but not limited to:
- Attempting to reverse-engineer or extract the source code.
- Using the Service for unlawful purposes.
- Disrupting the operation of the Service.
2. User Responsibilities
2.1 Credentials
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities conducted under your account. You agree to notify PlantText immediately at admin@planttext.com if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account.
2.2 Compliance with Laws
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
2.3 Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use the Service to transmit, process, or receive any content that is unlawful, harmful, or violates the rights of others.
3. Disclaimer of Liability
3.1 No Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of the results provided by an AI engine.
3.2 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PlantText, its owners, developers, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Service, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data
- Inaccurate results
- Unauthorized access to your data
3.3 Assumption of Risk
By using the Service, you assume all risks associated with transmitting data over the internet and relying on the results generated by the AI engine.
4. Data Transmission and Processing
4.1 User Data
By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that the data you provide may be transmitted over the internet to an AI engine for processing.
4.2 Security
While PlantText takes reasonable steps to secure your data during transmission and processing, you acknowledge that data transmitted over the internet is inherently subject to risks, including interception or unauthorized access.
4.3 AI Processing
The results returned from the AI engine are based on automated analysis of your data and should not be considered definitive, professional, or guaranteed advice.
5. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights associated with the Service, including but not limited to trademarks, logos, and software, remain the exclusive property of PlantText. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use the Service for personal purposes.
6. Privacy
6.1 Data Use
PlantText may collect, process, and store your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service. For more information on how we handle your data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
6.2 Third-Party Services
The Service may rely on third-party providers, such as cloud computing platforms or AI engines, for data processing. By using the Service, you consent to the transmission of your data to these third parties as necessary to provide the Service.
6.3 Third-Party Liability
We do not control or manage third-party services integrated into our platform and disclaim all liability for errors, omissions, or malfunctions resulting from their use. Use of these services is at your own risk.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PlantText, its owners, developers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
8. Termination
PlantText reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to the Service or its users.

PlantText may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be effective as of the “Effective Date” indicated at the top. Continued use of the Service after changes to the Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of The State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
